Final Week !!!!!!!!!!!

Unfortunately but Fortunately this is the last week of school. I have really enjoyed being in Ms Schlembach's class! I think she is a great teacher and did a very good job of presenting what she knew and the requirements about audio production. Look forward to being in another class sometime. As for now though I get to go back home to New Orleans for the Holidays and spend some time with my family !!! Hope all is well with everyone and enjoyed being a fellow classmate with everyone. I have been working on my project!  Trying to work on five projects at one time is proving to be quite stressful. Never the less I'm getting what I need done.  So far I've researched and  learned lots about Avid and Digidesign Corporation, their merger and  some of their products.  Looking forward to presenting my paper in class and Christmas break. Parallel Desktop vs. BootCamp (with Pro Tools!)

 Watz up Blog?!!?! Just a little update. I spent the last three days trying to install Pro Tools 7.4 on a Imac with Parallels Desktop! Found out that it is impossible because windows and mac hardware would have to share power. So just in case you are ever interested in installing in Installing Pro Tools on a Mac with Windows the better option would be to use boot camp. Boot Camp is an Apple product which allows you to choose at startup whether to run Windows or Osx operating Systems. The Software now comes with Leopard 10.5 !!!  So now I have the best of both worlds on my Mac. Blogout!!!!!!!!!!!

Midterms Last Week!!!!

Watz up blog interested in seeing how well I did on my test!!!!!! Seems as though the weeks are flying by huh ?!?!?!?!??! Found out that Pro Tools or should I say Digidesign is shooting for the release of Pro Tools 8 for December. They do give a disclaimer though saying basically they still have to test the product, soooooo I won't get my hopes up as of yet ! Anyways that's pretty much all there is to it, I don't really have much else to say for right now, but I guess we'll type later. Blogout!!!!!!!!!

What is the difference between Logic and Pro Tools?

Pro Tools 8 !!!!!!!!!

I am extremely excited about the upcoming release of ProTools 8. The makers of ProTools decided to change the appearance and interface completely. The new software almost looks like they were gonig for a "Logic" like appearance. The new setup is more pleasing on the eye and allows you to manuever the transport,icons,and buttons on top of the screen. In the mix window the whole track color can be changed as oppose to having only a tab at the bottom of the fader console. The program also allows you to do music scoring , use of elastic time plugin, increases track number, alows for midi production and comes with some added plugins. All and all I think this is a positive step for ProTools and look forward to buying ProTools 8. As of yet they have not given a release date. Today in class we took a quiz. I would have 2 say that I think I did pretty well!!!!! I guess we will find out in a couple of days. Anyways, I am interested to see what we do in class today! I think there was one question I got mixed up on but I think I covered it. It may just have been that test anxiety. The questions were the difference between wavelength and frequency. (lol) This Blog is out 4 right now , I may write something else after class.

My 2nd week in class

My second week in class was pretty much as interesting as the first.  We talked about the different types of microphones and how they work. We also had a chance to mess with a field recorder. I think it's basic operation is pretty simple. It will be pretty cool when we get to actually use them outside of the classroom! I think that should just about cover it for now.       BLOGOUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My 1st day in class !!!!!!

Hey watz up blog and teacher. Right now I am in class. I learned many interesting things that I never would have thought of today. We learned about the wavelength of audio ,which is the length that a wave completes within a cycle. Frequency, which is the number of cycles a wave completes within a second. Velocity, which is how fast the sound moves. Amplitude, which is basically the peak volume of a wave. We also learned a couple other fascinating things about sound but I can't type so I won't go into all of it. Overall though the first day in class was pretty cool!!!! Blogout!!!!!!!!!
